4/7—We pack the mini-van, bring the recycling bins, turn down the heat, and set off for the RV about 9 AM. An hour later we are carrying out our various chores. We do work like a well-oiled team; we both seem to know what to do without even talking. Together we get the truck battery in—it is REALLY heavy. Norb works on loading and securing the bikes, I work on loading the securing the house. We check the tires—too low. So we ask Alfonso to put the air hose out, and he does. We inflate the tires and the air ride suspension. And we are off, headed for Springfield.
Springfield has become our traditional first stop on our RV trips. This is the third time we have spent a few days there at the beginning of our trip. Luckily we don’t get any snow this time. We take our time, stopping for lunch at Wendy’s (chili, baked potato, frosty) and arrive in Springfield about 5 PM. Out to dinner with Marilyn, Dennis, and Hannah, visiting, to bed.
