A Quiet Day--4/19
It began to rain sometime after 3 AM, says Norb. And it rained and rained. We set out for a walk and turned back because it started raining again. But we finally managed to get our walk in. But the day is gray and cold and gloomy. A perfect inside day. We read and drink tea and do a crossword puzzle and blog and catch up on things. People in the campground are friendly and talkative and we have a few visitors who want to see what our ‘rig’ is like. The skies clear and we head out for another walk, this time a hike. We follow the stream up until we can’t get across, return to our campsite, build a campfire and welcome visitors—Judy and Ken Sullivan from Winchester, IN, fellow Navion owners. He was a judge for 14 years and during that time they didn’t have the ability to travel much. If a judge took a vacation, he needed to get a lawyer to take his place, gratis. Needless to say, there weren’t many lawyers willing to do that. So when Ken retired 10 years ago, he told Judy to pack her bag, they were going traveling. They bought their Navion in July of 2006, so we had lots of things to talk about. After they left, we made dinner. We are tending to eat late on this trip; 8 seems to be about it. We are busy hiking and walking and talking, and with the days being so long, dinner time seems to suddenly be upon us. Of course we had a campfire, using up all of the wood we had gathered. One last great bonfire.
